What this site does not collect

There is no analytics package, no advertising pixel, and no tracking script on this site. It sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. Every page is pre-built HTML, so there is nothing running in your browser to record what you read.

What is collected anyway

Two things still happen. First, like any website, the hosting provider records standard server request data — such as IP address, user agent, and the page requested — in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. That happens at the hosting layer, not through any code we wrote.

Second, if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. That correspondence is kept so we can act on a submission or correction.

Outbound links are tagged

Links from this site to vendor and tool websites, and to the operator's own site, carry utm_source=getfoundonchatgpt plus a utm_medium=referral and a campaign label identifying the page you clicked from. This exists so we can tell which pages are useful. It means the destination site can see that you arrived from here. It does not identify you.

How directory data is handled

Tool, vendor, guide, and industry records are stored in a content database and rendered into static HTML when the site is built. Nothing on a directory page is filled in by a script at the moment you view it, and nothing you view is written back to that database.

Your choices

If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will remove it, unless we are required to keep it. If you have submitted a listing and want it removed from the directory, send the URL and it will be taken down.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts collecting something new — analytics being the obvious case — this page will be updated in the same change that introduces it, and the date above will move. The current date reflects the last real edit, not a scheduled review.
